Dear Keith
I strongly suspect you are crooked! You mnetion it to be one stirrup you lose not both so look carfeully at Your weight and balance and make sure you are even on both seat bones and hips and shoulders. Get someon to watch you from the groud as you ride to see if yu remain straight as You do all three paces.

Working without stirrups will help you lengthen the leg thats shorter and losing the stirrup, but you must work with your whole body not just fix the leg , losing the stirrup is a sympton of your problem not the cause.

Aslo check your ankles are supple, and that your stirrup leahter are even and your sadle fits and its not crooked itself.

work on the lunge will help you with any seat problems, get a friend to liunge you if you cant get lunge lessons.

Good luck.
